My Students
I have the honor to teach some of the most creative, positive, outside the box thinkers. These kids are amazing! I get to come to work every day and know that I work side by side with Artist... not when they grow up... Artist now. These five to eleven-year-old students inspire me with their actions, conversations, and energy. I'm so lucky to be able to manage an Art Studio for these inventive children.
In the Art Studio, student's have the opportunity to move, invent, create, and problem solve.
They drive their own learning. Choices are offered to guide their learning, but every student has the ability to create their own experience. This allows them to shine in the Visual Arts world in a way that complements their unique abilities and style.
My Project
The deepest learning comes from teaching. I am requesting microphones for my K-5 Visual Arts Studio to allow my students to share their knowledge. In K-2nd grade, students use an app called Seesaw. This is an app that allows parents to receive messages throughout the day of their students learning. I would like to allow my students to have more ability to communicate with their parents and share their learning via video. In an active classroom, the energy of the students might mute the voice of the child trying to express themselves. By having a microphone, students are able to project their voice more effectively.
My older students are learning how to teach others by creating tutorials for others to learn from.
Again this is an application that a microphone truly assist in good communication. Voice is strong and students are focused while using the headset. Students will use this for other applications such as stop motion animation and other creative apps on a device or computer.
