This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very enthusiastic learners. They need an opportunity to express themselves through writing. I want to provide them with an organized, fully stocked, and inviting writing center. With the proper tools they can go beyond their imaginations.
My students attend school in the inner city amidst an industrial neighborhood where poverty, gang violence, and dropout rates are prevalent.
Although some of my students face hardships they come to class with a great attitude and an excitement to learn and express themselves daily.
My Project
The materials requested will be used to stock our classroom writing center which will be used on a daily basis. My students will use the composition books, newsprint, drawing paper, white tag board, and markers to write and illustrate stories, books, and poems along with other writing genres. The table top writing center will help the students find the necessary supplies and materials needed to draft and publish their special pieces of writing. All of these materials will help my students become independent, creative writers.
With your kind donations, I will be able to provide my students with the opportunity to express their creativity through the art of writing.
They will have the right tools to create amazing pieces of writing using their imaginations and will develop a love of writing that will last them forever.
