Help me give my students notebooks, pens, colored pencils, whiteboards with dry erase markers, highlighters, folders, multiplication flashcards, and jumpropes!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a diverse group of students linguistically and culturally. Distance learning has been hard for some of them because they lack certain resources needed to thrive academically such as colored pencils, paper, and pens. With that being said, my students are still trying hard and being the best students they can be.
My Project
COVID-19 has left us worried about how we are going to continue providing a safe environment for our students. Around this time my students are usually starting their back-to-school shopping but it is definitely going to be different this year. I want my new students to feel a sense of normalcy and what better way to do that than to get them brand new school supplies?
I want to provide my students with pens, highlighters, whiteboard markers, whiteboards, notebooks, folders, and earphones; not only that but I want to make sure they are given equipment to exercise with so I would also like to provide them with jumpropes!
Since our lessons will be on ZOOM, for the most part, my students will need earphones to be able to hear me correctly. The notebooks, pens, highlighters and folders will come in handy when we are doing our narrative writing lessons. Although, we might not have our usual “What I did this Summer” stories I will put their imaginations to the test as they write their narratives in these notebooks. I want to make sure that they know that even though I am not teaching them face-to-face I am still thinking about them and want them to be as prepared as possible for 3rd grade.
