Teaching challenges change constantly as well as learners needs. My students are a positive bunch that enjoys new ways to learn the basics.
We are a charter school in a growing community and have a diverse group of students from all backgrounds that are curious about the world around them.
We have students from well to do families, students who come from rough backgrounds and have found safety and stability in our school. We have many different cultural representations and some kids still working on their English skills.
We have high expectations for our students and are constantly looking for more ways to encourage and facilitate those expectations.
My Project
Chromebooks allow my students to have access to a whole world out there of books both literary and informational, and technological skills to allow them a broader choice and ability to study and research the world around them. In a technological age, it is important for my students to have the skills and resources to help prepare them for that world other than video games.
Other than just reading local books, they will have the opportunity to use both reading and writing skills mixed with technology to create their own websites with animal facts, book reviews and create their own books and informational creations.
