My Students

Being an educator in a low-income school district, many of the students despite circumstances enter my classroom curious about learning and have a hope of a better future. The students look forward to participating in engaging activities and leaving behind negative thoughts about issues that are not under their control.

My students are truly awesome and come ready to dive into learning.

The students enjoy engaging and thought-provoking activities that evoke curiosity about subject matter. From the second they walk in the classroom, the students are met with anchor charts of expectations of their day. My students appreciate how I enable them to freely prepare for learning in the classroom.

I have anchor charts and music to calm the environment as the day progresses. These anchor charts build a classroom of learners and independence among each of my students. They realize that they can count on me and their classmates to get through anything that they face at home and/or school. I hope to impact instruction and continue to inspire all of my students to walk with their heads up and pursue their dreams.

My Project

My students need quality technology to further increase their understanding of different math concepts through using music. Some of my students' multiple intelligence is musical and bodily-kinesthetic learning. In each station, my students have opportunities to research and pull together resources that impact their learning. With the headphones and Surface Pro with keyboard, my students will be able to participate in exciting math activities that motivate them to complete tasks in the classroom.

My students will reach for higher heights of participation and excel in classwork and homework. These resources will create and build learning opportunities in a way that students learn. Students today are tech savvy and we expect for all of our students to be globally competitive. So, we must create a classroom that incorporates technology and enables all learners to learn through the tech world. We have to supply and equip our students with the tools necessary to build a classroom of innovators, teachers, doctors, and the list goes on. The Surface Pro with keyboard is truly a start for students to use Khan Academy, web quest math activities, and so much more to increase student achievement. The headphones are another part of listening and creating those raps and songs that my students seem to adapt too during math and science activities. They love to create rap songs for everything they do in the classroom. The lanyards with ID cards will be a fun way to group students in their math and science groups. The lanyards with ID cards will be used during group discussions.
