Mr. H. from PA is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
See what Mr. H. is requestingMy students need a way to bring real life situations into the classroom. This is a wonderful way to give them prior knowledge even when their economical disadvantages prevents them.

Some of my students come from a background that tells them that in order to be somebody they must play a sport or perform a song. Education is not the first thing to grasp their attention yet they come to school hungry sometimes even with dirty clothes. They feel they have to come to school and not that they want to. The school uses some of their resources to keep the students fed, clothed and prepared with the necessities for learning.
A projector can really help my students learn by bringing the outside world to them. I hope to use it someday with a clicker system to test their knowledge of material taught each day. It will be used to make school more exciting to them by having them interact with. Too often are they limited by what they know or have experienced. I can use this to give them the experience and exposure without them having to be there in person. Without them having to spend money they don’t have.
We can use Google maps in class to virtually go to whatever interests them through out the day, for example the Grand Canyon.
I will no longer be limited in the way I teach them. Time will not be wasted on transition, such as erasing the bored and writing new information on the white board. Instead I could click a power point I created and move on to the next lesson. Students will not need to copy a problem off the board before their prep teacher comes in and erase it for his/her class, because I can bring the problem back up.
They will be excited to come in school because they will have a new lense to consider school through.
