This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Pre-K children love Dr. Seuss and with good reason! Dr. Seuss wrote fun and interesting books that engage children. I currently work in a Pre-K program for low income students. My students would greatly benefit from these materials.
My students have shown great interest in Dr. Seuss books. They have heard his most common ones but have not been exposed to his lesser-known books that are wonderful but sometimes cost more and often hard to find. I would like to expose them to these Dr.Seuss books, as well as audio cds and dvds to enhance their learning. Dr. Seuss teaches phonemic awareness and environmental awareness through fun and engaging rhymes. We will celebrate on Dr. Seuss's birthday by cooking green eggs, making Dr. Seuss hats, and "reading" our favorite Dr. Seuss stories to each other. Which of course you will receive lovely pictures of!
You can make this wonderful event come true by helping us get the materials we need to read the wonderful books and see the beautiful animations of one of our favorite authors, Dr. Seuss!
