This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All of these supplies have been chosen with my students in mind-I have observed students get much more engaged in group work when scented markers are involved! Who ever said learning can't be fun?
While reading, these purple colorful pens are for my students to use while they edit their writing, highlighters and markers will help students visualize the text as we analyze for comprehension and post it notes to take notes while reading.
I added some pens and pencils to my list because many of them simply don't have school supplies to bring to school.
I would also like to have a classroom library, and yes even middle school students really enjoy a "reading corner"- so I added a classroom rug that matches my classroom theme is to add some comfort to a secluded space for silent independent reading.
My students can also complete work outside using the requested clipboards. Changing the learning setting and environment is a proven effective way to build engagement amongst middle school students.
This will be my first year teaching middle school English Language Arts. Having taught eight years in the theatre classroom setting and two in elementary, I am so excited to teach a subject that I personally found my favorite secondary subject. I am excited to go on this journey and I really need your help to make it a great first year for my students and I. I could also use a few items I've misplaced or used throughout the years such as a stapler, laminating machine, colorful dry erase markers and erasers.
