Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 5th grade students will be reading Peter Brown's best selling book, which will soon also be a movie, "The Wild Robot." After reading the book and analyzing the main character, Rox the Robot, we will incorporate engineering and creativity into the Language Arts classroom by constructing their own robots. Students will create an environment for the robot and develop character traits for the newly created robot.
My students are predominantly low income, minority students who have limited exposure to engineering opportunities.
I believe that by giving them this opportunity, they will be better prepared for success in the future!
