This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
"The Wild Robot" by Peter Brown is a wonderful middle grade novel about a robot trying to survive in the wild including themes of friendship and kindness. The movie based on the book comes out this month. After "The Wild Robot", I plan to have the students read "Baseball in April" by Gary Soto, a high interest novel.
I plan to have an after school book club where we read the "The Wild Robot" and "Baseball in April" book in a relaxed, low pressure atmosphere.
There will be no homework, just the opportunity for all students to enjoy reading and discussing the novel. Every student will have their own book so they can take notes in and underline passages. Please help me make this book club a reality.
