This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember the first time your toes touched the ocean water and the cool beach breeze caressed your face? A majority of my students have never been to the beach.

My 25 first graders are inquisitive and thirsty for hands on learning and experiences.

We have been studying life cycles, water cycles, sea life, and how our actions affect the environment. The students at my school are all on free meal plans and many are on campus from 7:30 am until 6:00 pm.

My Project

We need a bus to bring the students or this trip will have to be canceled. A field trip to the Cabrillo Beach and Aquarium will allow my students to not only experience the beach for the first time, but also understand how pollution in the city affects our neighborhood, life at the beach, and other places we may not see or be able to visit. We can experience the sea life first hand and play interactive games at the beach and aquarium.

Without your help for the funding of the charter bus, we will not be able to take this trip and experience all the great wonders of the Pacific Ocean and the Cabrillo Sea Lab Aquarium.
