This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a teacher in a low economic area of our school district. Most of my students are part of the free or reduced lunch program. I am asking for donations to help build up the morale of our classroom.
We have been displaced from Hurricane Harvey and moved into another building that is more equipped for high school students.
Since we all spend 80% of our day at school, I would love to make this classroom more comfortable for all of us.
My Project
My students have an upcoming unit over the Water Cycle and weather. They will have to construct their own water cycle and take notes extensive notes on the project.
Science is hard to understand without the concrete learning that happens with hands-on activities.
I strive to give my students the opportunity to have concrete evidence on how things happen in the world. The binders will be used to organize their projects, take notes, and keep their investigation organized. The tea kettles will be used to warm water in the classroom that is necessary to show condensation.
It is vital for children to see how things work in the real world, and how they are connected to science with examples of the topics we are learning. By donating to our project my students will learn and thrive in Science and will greatly improve their understanding and competency in scientific methods.
