FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Anduha's classroom raised $336

My Students
Current students don't have the opportunity to attend art class. These tools will be integrated into language arts and math curriculum.
I teach a 2nd/3rd combo class in a Hawaiian language setting.
Our school is located in a high poverty area. Many students do not have experiences with art outside of school activities. I am hoping to spark an interest in students that I can direct toward math and language arts.
My Project
My students need basic art items, like beads, pipe stems, tiles, and collage frames, to start the year. Every year students celebrate the 100th day of school with activities in language arts and math. One activity that my students will be allowed to do in math is to use these tools to represent number sentences and digits. They will also use them in language arts to describe math word problems and writing activities.
I believe integrating art into our classroom learning is important because of the diverse social-economic status of my students.
Allowing them to express their creativity is an opportunity I do not want to miss and they should not have to miss it either because of budget cuts that don't allow us to purchase art supplies.
More than half of students from low‑income households
