Help me give my students the best remote learning experience possible with an Apple iMac, so I'm not getting dropped from class, leaving my students waiting for me.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and are so thankful to be back in person and excited for what they will discover for the day. I ask them, "What do you want to learn?" I want them to know that they are in charge of their learning and have choices in how to achieve their learning goals.
I teach in an urban low socio-economic area.
All of our students receive free lunch. My school is extremely tight on space with students eating breakfast and lunch in the classroom along with many of their specials and indoor recess in the confines of our 4 classroom walls. My students are humble and eager to learn. They don't have much sometimes at home, but they would give you anything they have to offer. They love school and they love the safe environment the school provides for them.
Many of my students sign up for after-school programs, in which students are selected by lottery. Despite language barriers, financial status, a limited technology available at home and a highly populated school, my students are eager to do their best.
My Project
My main objective is to increase my students' writing, science and social sciences knowledge, and provide them with a range of learning opportunities so they understand and grasp the many concepts through our current virtual learning situation.
This iMac will allow me to become Google Certified, and interact with my student's and give them the best visuals possible to master the content being taught.
The easy to use iMac will make virtual learning less complicated for both myself and my student's. The iMac will allow me to quickly navigate to multiple web pages while monitoring and teaching my students' in their virtual classroom.
The iMac will allow me to present to my student's as well as keep up with all my students' needs. It will also provide a better visual experience and not put such a strain on my eyes.
