I’m writing to ask for your support in bringing a powerful learning opportunity into my classroom—a class set of the book "What Were the Twin Towers?" from the popular and accessible "Who Was?" series. This book introduces students to the history and significance of the Twin Towers and the events of September 11 in a way that is age-appropriate, engaging, and thought-provoking.
Many of today’s students weren’t born when 9/11 happened.
To them, it’s history, not memory. But it’s a pivotal moment in American and world history—one that shaped our present. This book will help students understand not only the facts but also the emotions, resilience, and stories of real people. With your help, we can give every student a copy so they can read, reflect, annotate, and discuss this important chapter in our shared past.
Your donation would directly support critical thinking, reading comprehension, and meaningful conversations in our classroom. More than that, you’d be helping young readers connect to a moment that still echoes in our world today.
Thank you for considering this project. Together, we can give our students both a book and a lasting understanding.
