ILHS Science program is seeking funding for our Forensic Science Program curriculum, as it plays a crucial role in the education and development of our students. Our school is dedicated to providing opportunities for our students in Lancaster County to engage in hands-on learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry.
By implementing this curriculum, students will gain a deeper understanding of forensic science, including its relevance in solving real-life crimes.
The curriculum will cover various topics such as crime scene investigation, evidence collection and analysis, fingerprinting, DNA profiling, and other engaging topics.
This project is important to us because it offers a unique and exciting learning experience that goes beyond traditional classroom settings. It allows students to apply their knowledge to practical situations, fostering their passion for science and encouraging them to pursue future careers in STEM fields. The benefits of this project are multifold. First, it will enhance students' scientific literacy and critical thinking skills, equipping them with valuable skills applicable in various disciplines. Secondly, it will provide them with a hands-on experience that brings textbook concepts to life, making learning more engaging and impactful. Lastly, the program will foster collaboration, teamwork, and effective communication among students as they work together to solve mock crime scenarios.
