This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are some of the most resilient people I know. Their ability to work hard during a difficult time in their lives has been inspiring and heartwarming. The come from a variety of backgrounds and most receive free and reduced-price lunch. They have varying levels of learning abilities and yet persevere through any obstacles presented to them.
I am grateful to have them as students and look forward to working with them in whatever form our new school year takes.
My Project
I have an amazing science lab chock full of technology. Unfortunately due to Covid, I will not be able to teach in my lab for the foreseeable future and essentially eliminating my ability to use technology in my instruction.
Come September, I will be tasked with pushing in to each classroom in order to teach science.
This will prove to be a challenge as I want to limit contact with the classroom teachers materials.
This cart will enable me to bring a lot of my own technology to each room. I can easily transport my own laptop, projector, Elmo as well as science materials. Because of this, it is my hope that students will not experience much of a difference or disruption in my science instruction.
I want this return to school and learning science to be as stress free as possible for all involved. I believe using similar teaching techniques and modes as I did pre-Covid will allow students to continue to connect with me, instruction and science.
