This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are leaders and role models. They are admired for their perseverance in academic studies. 5th graders walk our hallways confidently and use their knowledge and skills to encourage younger students. They are called upon to be math, reading, and science buddies to younger learners.

My students enable their parents and siblings to do more because they take on many responsibilities in school and at home.

Their willingness to help is an inspiration. Each and every time they rise to the occasion with more heart and ideas for their school and community.

My Project

My student's voice is my favorite sound! They have a lot to say and I want every single one of them to have their voice heard. The multimedia headsets will be used in our classroom for just that.

As a student explains their thinking on a mathematical concept or takes on the role of teacher and records an audio or video using academic vocabulary to explain the coordinate grid, these headsets will capture their thoughts loud and clear.

The headsets with microphones will cancel out background noise to a greater degree allowing their message to come through and be shared with others in the classroom, but most importantly with parents, administration, and our younger classrooms.

Come alongside me and help show them that their voice matters. That what they speak with their tongue can paint what the eyes can't see.
