My Project

In our public Montessori elementary classroom, children learn best when they have the tools they need to explore, create, and express themselves.

Maria Montessori believed, “The child can only develop by means of experience in his environment.

We call such experience ‘work.’” By providing quality, simple materials, we give children the chance to take pride in their work, care for their environment, and develop independence. She also reminded us, “The environment must be rich in motives which lend interest to activity and invite the child to conduct his own experiences.”

These supplies may seem small, but they are essential to the big work of learning. With your support, our students will have the freedom to create, to focus, and to grow into independent learners who love their school environment.

We are requesting basic classroom supplies that will make a big difference in our students’ daily work: paints and brushes for art projects, large sheets of paper for collaborative work, pencils and sharpeners, and erasable pens to support writing with confidence. These supplies include tempera paint, watercolor sets, assorted paintbrushes, large drawing paper, sketch paper, No. 2 pencils, handheld sharpeners, and erasable pens.
