My students need tablets so they can be 21st-century learners. We would love to do virtual labs, research projects and become part of a global community. Unfortunately, our resources are sparse.
My students walk into our classrooms every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
I teach at a Title I school in Coney Island, New York where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Many of my students attend our after-school programs and receive a "dinner snack" before they go home. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn. They do all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
The 30 Fire tablets that I am requesting for my students already have a use. In other words, I know exactly how we are going to be able to incorporate them and make their learning experience better. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! They will be able to partake in virtual labs and be part of a global science community. They will be able to become 21st-century learners. They will be able to keep up with more wealthy schools where each class has one to one computing. The students will not get left behind in STEM because we need help in the technology.
