Help me give my students incentives to be positively motivated to attend school and behave well. The goal is to create a school store where students are incentivized for being R.E.A.D.Y-Respectful, Empathetic, Accountable, Determined, and Confident (You).
School should not only be a place of learning, but a place of FUN! With your help in funding this project, our school can reach its goal of increasing student attendance and academic growth/achievement by creating a school store where students can shop to redeem points they earn for being a R.E.A.D.Y scholar! The items requested are for our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports in efforts to motivate our students to grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
Your donation to this project will help us create a positive school environment that will impact the hearts, minds, and memories of our students' middle school experience.
At Sylvan Hills Middle, our motto is Sylvan R.E.A.D.Y. which stands for Respectful, Empathetic, Accountable, Determined, and You. Our student attendance is currently below 70%, so we want to encourage students to not only come to school, but to show positive behavior that will create a culture of love and enthusiasm. With increased attendance, we can reach our goals of increasing literacy and numeracy for the benefit of our future community.
The items requested, which include snacks, school supplies, and social emotional materials, will be placed in the school store that we are creating. Students will be rewarded points, and each item will be given a point value. Students will be able to redeem their points to shop weekly and purchase items that will keep them motivated to be at school and inspire their peers to do well, too. Rather it's a bag of chips, or a Powerade to fuel up for the day, students will tangibly see that their attendance and hard work is valued and appreciated. With your support, we can inspire future leaders who are READY for the unexpected!
