This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At my school, we have exceptionally talented and dedicated students who are willing to go the extra mile to have a dynamic and challenging music education. Our students may face very difficult situations at home and around them, but their willingness to persevere and their tenacity has set them apart.

Our music students have gone on to do great things in the community and in higher level music education.

We are honored to know that many of our scholars have received scholarships and high placement due to their work in music. We are very proud of their work and are excited to see what great things they will do this year. Music has done great things for our most at-risk youth. Let's help them continue their great work!

My Project

As teacher, I couldn't be happier. I have hungry music students waiting for me everyday when I show up for work. They ask to come to music during recess and lunch to practice and play for the teachers and students as they try and stay warm in the cold days of winter. They do all their class work in hopes to continue their music studies before and after their normal class times. My only problem is I still do not have enough instruments to service my students and give them a chance to practice and play like they wish to. They should be rewarded for their amazing work.

These two violins will help me give my students a chance to grow and flourish in our budding music program.

With them, two more students can join our budding orchestra as well as practice in and out of their normal school hours. The violin and viola rests are needed so they can effectively learn to play their instruments. The rosin for the double bass and violins are just as important as without it, they will not be able to play properly. Help us give our students a chance to be the best they can be.
