Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a classroom full of students who are eager to learn. As an educator I know that students learn in early childhood through play. Unfortunately my students come from homes where they are encouraged to take on roles early on that do not allow them the freedom to play. That is why it is imperative that they are provided this opportunity in my classroom. I want to provide them with the freedom to play and to learn with their peers.

My Project

My students would benefit from materials such as a Pretend and Play Refrigerator, a Pretend and Play Stove, a Classroom Vet Center, and Feels Real Newborn Dolls. These materials will help my students develop skills that they can only learn through play. Socio-cognitive skills are so essential for children to learn and the best way for them to learn this skill is through interaction with their peers during dramatic play. Students learn so much during dramatic play including literacy skills and math skills! Learning with these materials will impact my students for the rest of their lives because they will be able to interact with their peers in a positive way using real life scenarios that they will choose to participate in. I am so excited for my students' futures and how you are impacting them!
