This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The student store in our classroom (affectionately referred to as The Stadium) is a valuable resource for our students. Throughout the year, students earn tickets to spend in our store for various accomplishments. This may include personal growth goals, academic based achievements, positive social behaviors, or participation in class discussions and activities. Our store fosters a sense of community, responsibility, and pride among students. It allows students to have a direct say in the structure of our classroom and to recognize, celebrate, and reward the effort they put into their education in a personalized way.

The students in our class are involved in the decision-making processes; they vote on the products that should be included and take turns managing the "purchase" of items at the end of each class period.

Students are invested in the store's success and have a sense of ownership that motivates them to contribute positively to the classroom culture, leading to improved behavior and collaboration. Ultimately, our student store not only meets practical needs but also cultivates a supportive community where students can thrive academically and socially.
