The Sounds of Discovery

My students need headphones to listen to the computer in our labs and classrooms.

My Students

Our students are from a downtown neighborhood in Tampa, Florida. It is a dense, urban, ethnically diverse, lower socioeconomic community in a historic district. We are a Title 1, Renaissance, and Elevate school. Our student enrollment is 481 and 99% of our students are on free lunch.

Making our students feel safe and cared for and gaining their trust is crucial to making a difference in their lives.

When we can establish these relationships, and they are growing, learning begins.

My Project

Good headphones will make a big difference day to day for each of our students. We have re purposed older headphones by using adapters to make them fit the port. It has been helpful, but the adapters do not stay connected.

Our students light up in a whole new way when they hear their lessons through vivid sounds directly in their ears.

Students need to be able to hear the computer in order to make gains and show the growth that they are making. Headphones would be an investment in our students' future.

Students will use these headphones daily for math and reading in all our labs and classrooms.
