My students need a monitor for the sound cart, to use with their grade level performances.

My Students
I am the music teacher for 485 children in grades K-5. We are a Title 1 assisted school. This year, approximately 45% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. We have an increasing population of homeless children as well as an increasing number of students for whom English is not their first language.
We are very fortunate in our school division that every child has one 45 minute music class every week, but for many of these children, that music class is their only exposure to "real" musical instruments.
I don't have a budget to purchase expensive classroom instruments, but thanks to Donors Choose and other grants I have written, I am able to make wonderful instruments available for my students to use when they come to their weekly music class.
If you visited my music classroom, the first thing you might notice is that there is very little furniture, because my students need room to dance and play instruments, as well as sing and listen. It is so important that students are able to make music, thereby becoming musicians themselves!
My Project
Our school was built in 1931, for grades kindergarten through twelve, and because of this, has a wonderful auditorium. We use the auditorium and stage for grade level performances during the school year.
The school has a treasured tradition of having every grade level perform on our stage every year.
Our families look forward to these grade level performances, and for our students, their show is the highlight of the school year, and something that they will never forget.
We currently have two monitors that we use with the sound cart. These monitors have been used for sixteen years and are starting to show their age, as well as not having the best sound quality now. I would like to replace one of these monitors with a high quality new monitor that will serve our school for many years to come.
Monitors are an important component of any sound system, since they allow the students who are performing on the stage the ability to actually hear themselves singing with the accompaniment track. Before we had the old monitors, there was no way for students on the stage to stay in-sync with the accompaniment. Having monitors also helps direct the music onto the stage for dances as well.
This particular monitor is very high quality, and expensive, but will give my students many years of use. I have already posted a proposal for one monitor, so with this one, our sound needs will be covered for another sixteen years!
Thank you so much for supporting my students with your generosity!
