Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
When teachers first start teaching, one of the first things they learn about is Charles Maslow's hierarchy of needs. This principle states that without the needs at the bottom of the hierarchy pyramid being met, no one can be successful. Food is one of the three things at the bottom of this pyramid.
Many of our students at our Title I school come to school with empty stomachs.
This makes it incredibly hard for them to focus and learn in class. With having access to a quick but healthy and filling snack, they can get back on track to learning, instead of focusing on how their stomach is growling loudly during instruction.
