The Sky's the Limit Art Supplies Needed

Help me give my students supplies that will allow the third graders to celebrate holidays through their art and creations.

My Project

The third graders have only had white copy paper this year to use to express themselves artistically. My walls at school and home are covered with expressions of their love and appreciation for our school. I can't wait to see what they can do when I show them all the paints and brushes to unleash their talent. These tools will allow their inspirations to come out.

The students will use the variety of art supplies to create different projects and will be able to be creative in how they portray their mastery of the subject matter.

Many times throughout the year I give the students choice boards for them to choose how they want to be assessed at the end of a unit. For example they can create a play, music, poster, their own ending for a story we have read. Using the art supplies they have more options than the copy paper we have had this year.

I asked for a broom, dustpan, and vacuum cleaner because our janitor died a few months ago and I have been cleaning the floors with an old broom and dust pan from the class.

I have taught third grade for four years and it is exciting for the students to work on projects that celebrate holidays and create master pieces that can give their families and friends. The educational theorist Gardner believed it was important to determine mastery of subject matter by allowing our students to choose what they would like to create for proof. In the past I have given my students a choice sheet where they can create a written report, a poster, a book, a poem, a diorama , etc. to complete the assignment. When I receive these supplies, the sky is the limit as to what the third graders will create!
