This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are incredibly resilient, creative, and eager to learn. Each one brings their own unique perspective to the classroom, and I truly admire their curiosity and willingness to face challenges head-on. Despite the pressures they may encounter outside of school, they remain dedicated and passionate about their education. Their ability to remain engaged and enthusiastic, even when faced with difficult topics, is something I deeply respect. I love that my students are not just focused on academics—they are also developing into thoughtful, compassionate individuals who care about each other and their community. It is a privilege to be part of their journey, and I am constantly inspired by their determination and growth.

The grass-like rug and flower-shaped pillows will create a calming “research station” where students can reset, much like a scientist stepping back to analyze their work.

This is important because, many of my students experience stress and anxiety, and having a designated space for relaxation will help them manage these emotions. The soft, calming rug will serve as a safe haven where students can take short breaks to reset, reducing stress and allowing them to return to their studies with a clearer mind.

The flower pillows will add a tactile, comforting element, creating a peaceful environment that encourages mindfulness. This comfort corner will support my students’ emotional well-being, which in turn will help them engage more effectively in their academic work. By offering a place for self-regulation, I’m hoping to foster an atmosphere where students feel more in control and ready to tackle new challenges with confidence.
