My Project

As we all know, public school budgets are under more strain than ever before. There is such a demand to meet the emotional, behavioral, and academic needs of our students, and the funds to support extracurricular learning just isn't readily available. Now that we are facing a global pandemic, the opportunities for hands-on learning are becoming even more limited. That is why I have put together a collection of environmental book sets for my students to enrich their learning opportunities throughout the school year.

Environmental science is a passion of mine, and we need to teach our youth to be creative, progressive thinkers to become advocates for Mother Nature.

I highly value literature within my classroom, and I feel that reading is the gateway to inspiring future learning. However, it's important to connect children to the real world and bring that window of learning to life. The books in my project cover curricular topics such as the importance of pollinators, recycling, plant life, water cycles, food chains, and our place in the universe. Children are brave enough to think progressively when they are provided with trailblazing tools to inspire their learning. Knowledge is power, and, to create world changers, we must invest in educating our children about the land they live in.
