The Science of Kindergarten

My students need an aquarium, science related books, activities and 10 subscriptions to Time for Kids.

My Students

Children should be exposed to the grandeur of the world to gain appreciation of themselves, others, and the environment.

My students are very eager to manipulate and observe materials that will foster their observation skills in science.

My class is a multi-age group of children consisting of 3-6 year-olds. These children go to a public Montessori school in Chicago. Most of them receive free and reduced lunch.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will be very valuable to my students' learning. My hope is for my students to immerse themselves in learning about different animals, things, and concepts around them. By doing this, their relationship with the environment will become stronger and more meaningful. Understanding climates, regions, and ecosystems will heighten the students awareness of their role in maintaining and sustaining a thriving, living planet. The non- fiction books they read will aid in their research about the world. The materials and activities will solidify their new learning by experimenting and manipulating objects. Lastly, the Time for Kids magazine subscription will entice them and assure constant reading and learning for these little ones!!!

I believe that through this, they will gain a valuable appreciation of themselves and everything around them.

In return, they will want to care for these things and gain the ability to connect their importance to the world and to its preservation. Thank you in advance!
