This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am the Reading Specialist at my school. I have taken classes in the Science of Reading this year. In these classes I have been learning about how the brain learns to read. The lessons I have learned will not only benefit every student I work with but will greatly improve the reading skills of those students discovered as having Dyslexia.
The materials I am asking for are scientifically proven to aide in building the skills students needs in order to become a more proficient reader.
Since the onset of Covid, with closed schools and absent, sick students, our students are behind in many skills they were unable to master from home and online. My desire is to make up the lost time and skills for these very deserving students.
