Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Literacy is increasingly important in today's world, and providing our youngest learners with high-quality materials to engage in foundational skills is crucial. High-quality books, comfortable seating, and new shelving are sure to draw students to our cozy and inviting classroom library, while hands-on materials will support students' diverse learning needs.
These materials offer opportunities for students to engage with all five components of literacy (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension) through play, reading, and explicit instruction.
Engaging students and families in early literacy skill practice through these materials and workshops will be an important piece of this project. This will help to instill a lifelong love of learning in my students and set them up for future success!
