The Right Beat: Mallets for Percussionists

My students need mallets/sticks to perform on the percussion instruments required of them by our music.

My Students

Our program consists of 200 students in band and choir. Many of these students started their musical paths in elementary school and chose to continue into middle school.

My students love to learn and love to create music!

Being at a low-income school, it is harder and harder to get the materials needed to create a high quality music program. My students have the capabilities to be the best, but need the tools to help us be our best.

Through music, I believe that we can push that achievement gap not only in academics, but also students social/emotional capabilities. With the right tools, we can accomplish anything!

My Project

These mallets and sticks will enable my students to play percussion instruments for years to come! At the middle school level, we are pushing to students to play more complex music. With complexity comes the need for better quality mallets to make the sounds students are being asked to make.

Students need various mallets to create beautiful and meaningful music.

At the moment, we play with "whatever we can find". Playing with new equipment that is built specifically for the purpose that is being asked of students will greatly impact their ability to learn and perform with maturity and musicality!
