The Relaxing Art of Origami

Help me give my students supplies for an Origami Station to engage students in a mindfulness activity.

My Project

Our student body comes from a myriad of culturally diverse and economic backgrounds, including military families based at the local airbase and military academy. Some of these students have had amazing experiences, but many in our school have not. Being the School Library Media Specialist, I am lucky enough to teach Library Skills to all 419 (give or take) of our AWESOME students in grades 1-5.

Origami, the ancient art of paper folding, is not only fun, but develops a student's spatial, thinking, creative, analytical, and motor skills, to name a few.

I am always trying to find new and innovative ways to inspire curious minds to examine, investigate and create. An origami center checks all of these boxes!
