My Project
This project will help our students learn the importance of recognizing unhealthy emotions that ultimately keep them from learning. The Recharge Room will allow trained staff and volunteers to help students build self-esteem, self-efficacy, and learn strategies for resolving conflict. These are emotions that continue to overwhelm students; middle school is a critcal transitional time and requires a process for effectively channeling emotions.
The Recharge Room will also provide a platform to address bullying.
Counselors can guide students through scenarios and learn how to navigate bullying, name calling, and unfriendly behaviors. The Recharge Room would create a space for students to learn how to push through barriers that hinder their emotional and social growth.
The main purpose for this project is to create a unique space within our school community for students to connect with themselves and others. We want to live out the school mission to inspire and foster a passionate student-centered community. The aim is to nurture all students to be strong emotionally and intellectually; ultimately preparing students to be positive and productive contributors to our local and global society.
