The Reality of The United States and The World

My students need large wall maps of the US and the World to help visualize the location of places we read about.

My Students

Children are amazed and entertained while learning when looking at maps. To have large wall maps is essential in classrooms to engage students into a deeper realm of learning.

My students are inner city children whom many have never visited outside their neighborhoods.

It would be an adventure for them to view the map of the US or the world and see beyond our city as well as an opportunity for a great learning experience.

My Project

The students will be able to see beyond their own community to a greater sense of living outside NJ. When studying the rain forests we will be able to view the places in the world where rain forests are located. When reading about rivers, states or mt ranges in the US we can refer to the map for each location.

Due to cutbacks and budget restraints I am not able to purchase these wall maps from school funds.

I think maps in the classroom is a valuable tool. Studying maps would broaden the scope and understanding of space for the children and prove to be a very rewarding and enriching experience.
