This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I pull the students who are struggling most to read for intensive foundational skills practice into our Reading Cafe - a classroom decorated to look like a coffee shop!
There is nothing better to hear as a teacher than the words, "Now I can read!"
These atistic resources can help make practice fun and engaging! We will use the rainbow scratch paper to make our sight words colorful. We will use the gel and art pens to practice spelling patterns. The words not old help student read and spell but they become beautiful works of art! And we will use the cute food pastry erasers to make corrections. Connecting reading to art helps students make the mind body. Adding an artistic spin on literacy solidifies skills.
