Help me give my students more literacy centers that encourage literacy awareness while they play.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Kovac's classroom raised $291

My Students
My students are loving, curious, motivated and creative! They enjoy new experiences, songs, and movement.
Students range from three years old to five years old in our classroom and for many, this is their first real school experience.
Seventy-five percent of my students come from low-income families and are bused from parts of the city arriving from different backgrounds and challenges.
Different learners and different students bring their own process in how they work and think. I want to offer my students opportunities to expand their thinking and challenge them to think academically and creatively.
My Project
I have noticed my students need more independent centers for literacy time. I work with my students in small groups and like to encourage them to keep learning while they wait for their group, by using materials that support their letter and writing knowledge.
My students enjoy play and these materials will handle their fun but learning side.
My current classroom selection requires too much adult involvement which makes it difficult to have small group centers and manage the students. I need independent work that is engaging and stimulating at the same time, such as the requested alphabet, printing, and letter activities. The materials can be used year after year because play while learning never stops for young children.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
