My students need the current textbook in Practice of Statistics, test prep materials for the AP Exam(5 steps, All Access) and extra reading (How to Lie, Cartoon Guide) in the content area.
My favorite quote is painted on the back wall of my classroom. "Education is not received. It is achieved." I want my students to work hard every day and understand that they are responsible for their achievements.
Our community is very diverse.
We were once a small town with seasonal crowds but have grown into a small city with a large year round population. We are a comprehensive school with over 2000 students spanning grades 8-12. For a lot of our students, school is their only opportunity for success. By challenging all students to succeed, many are looking to a different future that now includes college and career. This is made possible by our academic diversity.
My Project
The textbook being requested is awesome! It is the latest in this popular branch of mathematics (Statistics) and my colleagues in other parts of the country who are currently using it say it is the best. The books we are currently using are outdated and don't utilize technology the way that is expected for advanced placement students in 2015.
These materials, Practice of Statistics, test prep materials for the AP Exam(5 steps, All Access) and extra reading (How to Lie, Cartoon Guide) will allow my students to be competitive with other students in our country as well as around the world.
Students will be able to stay current in the content area and continue their passion for statistics.
My students will be able to understand statistics better and perform better on the national AP Exam. Those earning a qualifying score will earn credit for a math course in college.
