My Project
I love that when my students see me in the hallway they call me Mrs. Art Teacher and say hello. They also ask what project they will be doing next and can't wait to come to art class. My students are special because they come from culturally diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn about the arts.
I make it my mission to choose art activities with bright colors that help bring happiness.
I also incorporate activities using social-emotional learning strategies which help bring calm, joy, and relaxation to my students. They are also enthusiastic learners.
I have requested Elmers Glue, Glue Sticks and Fine Sharpie markers so students can make 3-D sculptures inspired by the famous African artist Charles McGee.
Students will focus on kindness symbols and show positive and negative lines, shapes and patterns in their 3-D sculptures inspired by the famous African American Charles McGee.
Students will also model and discuss acts of kindness they can model in their home, school and community.
