My students need Science resources and basic supplies to teach them about energy and electricity.

My Students
Do you remember learning about science in elementary school? Did you have engaging books to read? Did you get to do hands on experiments? These are the experiences I want my students to have.
My 2nd grade students attend a suburban public school North Carolina with a close to 30% free and reduced price lunch rate.
I would love to see my students thinking of themselves as scientists at this young age. Using quality informational texts and hands-on experiments, I hope to engage these young learners in the world around them.
My Project
In North Carolina, 2nd graders are expected to learn about the wind and the power of the wind. I've requested a wide variety of science resources to help enhance my classroom and the variety of learners I have. The science reading books will be beneficial to my visual learners who love getting caught up in a good book. I've requested a classroom windmill generator, which will give students the opportunity to see the power of the wind on our playground and in the classroom. They will be able to see hands on how the wind works! I've also requested a classroom electricity circuit. I want students to not only understand wind as a form of energy, but understand other forms too: wind, water, and solar to name a few.
This project is essential to my students' education this year.
With these resources, I will be able to provide a quality science education in my classroom that will benefit a variety of learners. My students will be able to not only hear me talk about science, but will be able to interact with science in the classroom. It will not only affect my students next year, but in years to come!
