My Students
My students are about to make the transition back to in person learning after 10 months away from the school building. They have been working hard at distance learning and will be back in school full time. I want to make sure my classroom is prepared to keep them safe and provide learning opportunities for my diverse learners.
My students never let the challenges that come with living in a low-income household or being homeless.
I know that each of my students will have a different reaction to being back in the school building after so long, and as their teacher I want to be as prepared as I can be.
My Project
The biggest item on my wish list is a projector screen for a better interactive learning experience.
Through the projector screen, new learning experiences can occur and multiple ways of reaching students in different ways.
Rather than writing notes across a whiteboard, the teacher can make use of PowerPoint presentations, images and even film as teaching tools through the use of projectors. It can display web content to an entire class, rather than each student accessing information on small individual computers.
Students will appreciate the use of projectors as they prepare class projects that they can now create in PowerPoint or other electronic mediums. Consequently, students will find that presentation creation will go faster with each person using their own computer to create their section of the presentation. Presentations on a projector, additionally, reduce the need to make copies of materials to pass out to classmates during presentations that can now be displayed for the entire class to view at once.
I've also asked for a gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers. I will use the gift card to purchase interactive activities and fun activities. A Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to access a variety of materials that I will be able to use in class.
