I work in a school, in a classroom with children that are eager to learn. I teach in a Title I school that is located in an area of New York City. Many students come from low income homes where little or no English is spoken at home.
Children in this school are very special because they come from very diverse backgrounds.
They come from all over the world and are so excited to learn. My students come to school full of life. They walk into my classroom ready to learn.
My Project
It is not a mystery that mobile technology is here to stay. I need tablets in the classroom because better technology equals increased learning. These tablets are easy to use, will give direct communication, will improve computer skills by boosting creativity, and will give the children confidence to make the new initiative work.
The apps on tablets in the classroom will serve a variety of purposes in my classroom.
From note-taking, reading, and research the tablets will promote learning in the classroom.
The children in my classroom are currently sharing and makes it very difficult to do research. These tablets will be used in groups as the children will research. These tablets will thrive in my classroom as a mobile teaching system.
More than half of students from low‑income households
