This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Reading can be challenging for students, especially in 2nd grade. This summer, I had the opportunity to begin LETRS training (Science of Reading training) to gain a deeper understanding of how the brain functions during reading and spelling, as well as to comprehend why students often struggle with reading and phonics. Working with students in small groups using hands-on and multi-sensory materials such as letter tiles, mirrors, and sound cards has been proven to help them retain what they learn.
My goal for this project is to enhance student learning and to make phonics and reading enjoyable for both students and teachers alike!
My students are incredibly special, and I want to provide them with the tools for success not only in my classroom but also throughout their lives.
