My Project
We make history come alive with project-based building! My students learn more about the concepts we study by building artifacts related to their research topics. Crafting and building allow my students to turn abstract concepts into concrete, hands-on projects, promoting a deeper understanding of topics. To accomplish this, we need modeling clay, hot glue guns, paint, building materials and more!
Examples of our projects include developing monuments to diverse influential women from history and creating a Civil War to Civil Rights museum that looks at our country's fight for equal rights.
Our project-based builds foster collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills. Students sketch designs for builds, create lists of materials needed, and then have access to crafting items to make their ideas come to life. These projects reinforce academic content and help students develop life skills that follow them outside the classroom.
