My Project
Your generous support is helping bring imagination to life in our kindergarten classroom through the addition of a puppet/market stand, puppets, a clothing rack, and a mirror for dress-up play. These aren’t just toys—they are powerful teaching tools.
In kindergarten, play is the work of childhood.
Through dramatic play, children explore emotions, build friendships, and engage in real-world problem-solving. They develop foundational social-emotional, literacy, and math skills while having fun.
For our Black and Brown students, dramatic play is especially powerful. It provides space to see themselves in joyful, creative roles and explore identities that are often underrepresented in traditional classroom materials. When children see themselves reflected in play, their confidence grows. It affirms that their voices, stories, and dreams matter.
Because many of our students come from low-income households, school is often one of the only places where they have consistent access to toys, imagination-driven experiences, and a safe place to play. Your support helps create that space—a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child feels seen, valued, and free to imagine.
Thank you for helping to make this possible. You are helping to build a classroom where community, creativity, and connection are at the heart of every day.
