The Power of Planning: Funding Planners for Focused Learning

Help me give my students academic planners to support achievement, time management, and personal responsibility.

My Project

My students are hard workers and goal oriented. They struggle with time management and need support with executive functioning skills such as managing tasks and planning ahead. We have a strong AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program at our middle school and one of the strategies that we use is teaching students how to use a daily planner.

This effort to AVIDize our school has improved student work completion and has increased student success.

The planners are a consistent way to help students write down assignments, plan out projects, and keep up with important upcoming events.

By providing each student with a physical planner, we offer a structured way to build these competencies daily. Planners also enhance communication between school and home, as families can monitor assignments and school events more effectively. The impact of this donation would be immediate and far-reaching, helping students stay on track, reduce stress, and take ownership of their learning.
