My Students
My students are creative, out of the box thinkers who have a love for learning. This is a group of fourth graders in California coming from a variety of backgrounds with over 40% learning English as a second language. They are all eager to learn and create new experiences. Our school strives to create a rich learning environment and offer a variety of learning opportunities for students to grow as individuals in the classroom and out. They are excited about their education and I would love to give them the proper tools to keep growing.
My Project
Picture books are powerful tools for students of all ages. Picture books in the upper grades can be used as mentor texts to teach key reading and writing skills.
There are so many different picture books that can teach anything from science, to math, to growth mindset, to figurative language.
These picture books will be used to teach key lessons in reading and writing as well as to engage students in other key subjects. Many picture books will also be used to teach to our core values that we want to instill in all children.
With these picture books we can open the world of reading, writing, math, science, growth mindset, and character education!
