My Project

"Keep going!", "You can do this", "Yay, you did it!" are the encouraging words that I use in my classroom everyday. I am currently teaching the only med frag pre-k unit in the entire school district! Students are usually placed in this unit if they have eligible health impairments such as seizures, cerebral palsy, failure to thrive, and other medical issues that may prevent them from doing well within the general education classroom. I'm tasked with not only teaching them academics but, I also teach them valuable life skills that will help them gain their independence. However, I will not be able to fully accomplish this important goal without help.

My students will be able to feed themselves, use the potty, and increase their cognitive skills with the materials that I will be able to obtain with your help.

Two of my students have medical conditions that make it challenging for them to hold on to items for long periods of time along with having low fine-motor skills; I have one student that needs to be potty trained but, is too small for the regular toilet which poses a safety risk, and all of my students are learning to increase their cognitive skills with Kindermusik (a program that uses music for learning). However, we are unable to do some of the activities due to not having a keyboard.

With your help, I will be able to meet their IEP goals and take them further with gaining new skills. My goal is for them to increase at least 10 outcomes on their skills checklist by the end of the school year and these supplies will help me get them there. Thank you for assisting us in our journey for greater independence.
